Katrina Banks, 31-Year-Old Missouri Mom, Son Killed By Fiance In Murder-Suicide

Katrina Banks, 31, and her 15-year-old son Kevin Robinson were shot and killed late Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 when authorities say the woman's fiance, Dornubari Dugbor, opened fire on them in their Missouri home. During the incident, he reportedly told his startled 4-year-old daughter to go back to sleep.

Detectives in the Missouri city of Bellefontaine Neighbors are investigating after a chilling 911 call led them to a grisly murder-suicide scene.

“There are three dead bodies at Hoyt Drive, and I need police to respond,” the male caller said, according to local TV station KMOV.

When officers arrived at the home near midnight on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, they found three people dead. A 4-year-old girl, shaken by the shootings, was found on the couch pretending to be asleep.

She reportedly heard the shot that downed her mother and went into her room, where she was told to go to her room by her father.

"She was close enough to the event where she heard the gunshots and heard other scuffles and talk during the event and (I) would imagine a 4-year-old is going to be scared from this type of event. I feel for her greatly," Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Chief Jeremy Ihler told Fox 4 KC.

Police found 31-year-old Dornubari Dugbor dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to KTVI. With a 9mm gun in his lap, his hand still clasped onto a cellphone.

Investigators said that phone was the one that was used in the 911 call.

Also found dead from gunshot wounds were 31-year-old Katrina Banks and her son, 15-year-old Kevin Robinson.

Banks and Dugbor had recently gotten engaged, according to local media.

"The girlfriend and boyfriend, they were recently engaged in January. We know they had some kind of relationship for the past four years because the 4-year-old was a child in common," Ihler told the TV station.

In mid-January, Banks posted pictures of a new engagement ring on Facebook, according to St. Louis Today. She wrote, "I said yes!" Four days later, she posted a picture of she and Dugbor with the caption, "To the future. Bigger. Better. Greater. 2018."

Authorities are still trying to figure out a motive. There was no history of domestic violence being reported from the residence. They did say that Dugbor lived at the home off and on and also had a residence in St. Louis. Police continue to probe the case for clues.
