Jackie Dogen: Mother of four kids is shot & killed by ex-boyfriend, cops say
Twenty-three-year-old Jackie Dogen "was beautiful, had a warm heart,” said her cousin Dogen’s Czatorrie Garrett told WIAT-TV in Childersburg, Alabama.
The mother of four children, including a newborn, was inside her home celebrating her daughter's birthday on September 14, 2016 when an argument with her ex-boyfriend turned deadly.
Police said the man caused a commotion at Dogen's apartment and police were called. He left but soon returned with a firearm when cops dispersed. He pulled out a gun and fatally shot Dogen.
“It was always about the kids for her, and for something like this to happen it’s tragic,” Garrett told WIAT. “Pitiful man for a situation to escalate the way it did.”
The shooting suspect is named Trequerius Twyman, according to the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office. He is the father of Dogen's four children, according to WIAT.
When officers arrived at the home, Twyman shot at one of the officers, grazing him. The 23-year-old is charged with murder and assault. His bond was set at $1 million.
A GoFundMe account has been set to help care for expenses in the wake of Dogen's death. it reads in part:
