Ummi Najma Al-Thaqib: Washington D.C. Woman, 59, found strangled in her car
Washington, D.C. police have determined that the death of Ummi Najma Al-Thaqib, a 59-year-old woman found deceased in her car on October 26, 2016 is a homicide.
Police said that Al-Thaqib was strangled to death. Her body was found in the middle of the day at the Mayfair Mansion apartment complex in D.C.
Her relatives said that Al-Thaqib had been leasing her home to a new tenant and they thought she might have been most recently sleeping out of her car.
The victim's mother, speaking to the Washington Post, said that her daughter had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer but kept it under wraps to most people.
“We really don’t know what happened,” the mother was quoted as saying.
Al-Thaqib worked as a delivery driver for pizza shops and wanted to drive for Uber, her mother said.
