July Johnson: Michigan mother gunned down inside car
Who would gun down a mother of a child?
That's the question police, family and friends want to know in the death of 34-year-old July Johnson of Oak Park, Michigan.
The woman was in her car when she was approached by a gunman and shot multiple times, according to police. She died from several gunshot wounds to the torso, police told local media.
She was outside her boyfriend's home Friday morning, Jan. 13, 2017 at the Stoneridge at Heritage Village condominiums near 13 Mile and Mound rounds.
The boyfriend has not been charged, but he is being questioned by police.
A witness, who didn't want to be identified, reported seeing a person flee on foot after the gunshots Friday about 7:30 a.m.
“I just heard all the commotion, I looked outside and this is what I saw,” a neighbor told the Macomb Daily.
News reports showed Johnson's white 2016 Ford Fusion, with bullet holes in it.
