Asia Wade: Mother's Badly Beaten Body Found In Home With 4 Children
Asia Wade was a mother trying to raise her young children, the oldest only 9 years old. She was found in July 2010 deceased in her Nashville-area home, her body badly bruised.
The children were found inside the home with their mother's body, police said. It is unclear if one of them alerted authorities to the crime.
Police said that 30-year-old had shared the residence with her boyfriend. Authorities forced their way into her home, then into her locked bedroom. The victim's car was also nowhere to be found, police said.
It was family members who alerted authorities, after the victim's children, ages 9, 6, 5 and 4, failed to show up at day care. "Police said the children told their caregiver who stopped by the house Tuesday morning that they wouldn’t be going because their mother hadn’t dressed them," according to Nashville's City Paper.
Police believe that Wade's boyfriend, Demeko Duckworth, is likely involved in the shooting.
"Wade’s cousin, Clarence Goins, died Tuesday afternoon from a gunshot wound to the head that he received in the incident," the City Paper said.
Wade is wanted by authorities. He is believed to be traveling in Wade’s car, a red 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, icense number 707-TMN..
Anyone with information on Duckworth or the victim’s car should call the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
