Kendall and Kayla Brown: Sisters Shot To Death In Memphis; Husband Charged

On Thursday, April 13, 2017, sisters Kendall Brown, 27, and Kayla Brown, 19, were gunned down outside the elder sibling's Hickory Hill home in the 3800 block of Shallow Wood Court

Jasper Moten says they he'll always remember his two daughters, their good habits, good grades, their overall goodness. One wanted to be an attorney; the other was studying at  the University of Memphis

"They always did well in school and were my babies,"  Moten told local media outside of his Memphis home. "Why did they have to be taken  like this?"

On Thursday, April 13, 2017, sisters Kendall Brown, 27, and Kayla Brown, 19, were gunned down outside the elder sibling's Hickory Hill home in the 3800 block of Shallow Wood Court and Pathway Circle. The home was full of family members, including children, who were unharmed in the double shooting.

Police have arrested Kendall Brown's husband, who calmly turned himself in to police at Crump Station precinct. Authorities don't know what spurred the shooting, which they are calling a domestic situation.

George Muhammad told police that when he arrived home from work he caught his wife Kendall involved with another man. He flew into a rage and "blacked out," not remembering allegedly shooting his wife and her sister. Nor does he have a recollection of driving to the police station and surrendering, he told authorities.

"Two female victims were found shot outside the home," Memphis police Maj. Rodney Adair told reporters. "Five children were in the home but they were unharmed and are with family members."

"This is awful,"  Cobrina Moten, a cousin, told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "We've lost so many family members in the month of April over the years. It seems like April is a cursed month for our family."

Police said that Muhammad has a criminal past, including being arrested for domestic violence in 2012.
