Police are looking for a 27-year-old Tennessee man who fled a Nashville apartment when a 7-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed by her 2-year-old cousin. The bizarre shooting occurred Tuesday, June 6, 2017, inside the J.C. Napier housing development.

Harmony was among three other children and a inside the apartment, including cousins ages 14 and 11 years old. A 29-year-old aunt was also inside the apartment. The gun used in the shooting was initially missing in the apartment, but it has been found, police said.

According to news reports, the 2-year-old was holding a pistol when it went off, striking Harmony. She was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died pronounced dead.

The school issued a statement on Harmony’s death, according to the Tennessean newspaper, saying in part: “She was always smiling and would often walk throughout the hallways with her arms extended ready to hug the next person she saw. She was an avid reader and was always eager to learn new concepts. She loved engaging in activities and field trips with her peers and classmates, and she was a leader in her classroom.”

A Nashville funeral parlor said that it will cover costs associated with Harmony's burial.

Owner Steve Ganaway of SAG Funeral Home told WZTV that his company will cover the costs to bury Harmony to "give back to the community." Ganaway said, "We are burying so many youths, we are doing this time, after time, after time, after time...and I keep repeating the same old cycle every week."

Detectives said that Anthony P. Sanders, 27,  -- a friend of the aunt -- was at the apartment when the shooting happened, and when he found out what happened, he ran. Police are seeking Sanders for questioning.
