Brittany Seymour: 21-year-old New Orleans Woman Allegedly Stabbed To Death By Cousin
It was supposed to be a joyous occasion. Brittany Seymour didn't even want to come out to the House of Blues and the riotous atmosphere of the French Quarter that day, but there she was.
Seymour had gone out with a group of friends to celebrate one of their birthdays, but she soon noticed that her cousin, who had a longstanding beef with her over a man, was inside the place with her girls. When they saw each other, things got rowdy, but security guards threw the cousin and her associates out.
Bartenders told local media that when Seymour tried to leave minutes later, she was attacked.
“She was trying to leave to get to her car or something, walking down the block (and) she got stabbed,” an employee of bar told WSDU. “I’m assuming by those girls, by those girls who were screaming and yelling because they were waiting for her outside.”
Brittany's sister told another TV station that the girls moved down a few blocks to another part of Decatur Street, and the fighting began again.
"We were getting ready to leave and somehow those two got to each other and started fighting," Bria Seymour said to NOLA.com. "And in the midst of it my sister was stabbed two times."
The assailants have not stepped forward and no one is talking. Crime Stoppers is accepting anonymous tips at 504-822-1111.
