Jeannine Skinner: UNC Charlotte Professor Found Dead In Apartment; Man Wanted For Murder
The UNC Charlotte community is grieving in the aftermath of the finding out that the body of a well-liked professor, Jeannine Shante Skinner, was found Friday in southwest Charlotte. Police said Skinner's body was found in an apartment near South Tryon Street around noontime.
Skinner, 35, worked as an assistant professor in UNCC ’s psychology department, according to the university website. Authorities went to the apartment to do a welfare check and made the grisly discovery.
Police are looking for Donny Lewis Franklin, 45, so that they can charge him with murder. Law enforcement is investigating the killing as possibly domestic related.
Police said Franklin, 45, was last seen driving a maroon / burgundy Jeep with the license plate number 0512KN, according to police.
