Shannon Mani: 21-Year-Old Pregnant Milwaukee Woman Found Stuffed In Suit Case; Boyfriend Charged

Shannon Mani, 21, a  26-weeks pregnant Wisconsin college student, was bound murdered and stuffed in a suitcase by Milwaukee authorities on April 15, 2018. Her boyfriend has been charged with two counts of murder.

Shannon Mani was a junior studying to be a dental assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a responsible person, so it was odd that she vanished one day.

No matter how many people that asked for her or called her, Mani was nowhere to be found. She was supposed to have picked up her brother from school, but failed to appear. Then she was soon expected to be at work. She was a no-show there as well.

The girl's parents grew increasingly worried and on Friday, April 13, 2017, they decide to go to the Waukesha Police Department to report that their daughter was missing.

The parents then asked the boyfriend, Quentin Neal, if he had seen her. He said that he had not, but when they told him they were going to the police, he seemed to act suspicious. He declined to go with them, according to local news station CBS 58.

Investigators were able to access the victim's Apple Watch, which showed that she and Neal spoke near the time she disappeared. It showed that Neal asked her to come to his home and that she said she was almost there.

Authorities obtained a search warrant of Neal's home, where they found what was possibly blood stains in the basement, including on the walls and stairs.

According to CBS 58: "During an interview with Neal, he admitted that Mani had come to his house and that the two had gotten into a fight. According to the criminal complaint, Neal claimed that Mani took the gun and knife from the kitchen and tried to pull the trigger which didn't go off. Neal then said he shot Mani twice in the head which caused her to fall down the basement stairs. He said that she then came at him again so he took the knife and cut her."

Neal then admitted that he put the victim in a garbage bag, then stuffed her into a suitcase and took it to a storage locker.

Authorities were led to the locker, where they found the victim's body bound and gagged in duct tape. She had been shot in the head and had been stabbed with "multiple sharp objects," according to authorities.

The victim was also pregnant. Her fetus did not survive.

Quentin Neal is being held under several murder charges, including  First Degree Intentional Homicide and First Degree Intentional Homicide of an  Unborn Child. Police said that Neal was the father of the baby Mani was carrying.

Mani was laid to rest this past weekend  at Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha by a group of family and friends, who came out to celebrate her life.

"We are celebrating her life. She wanted to change the world and wanted to make a difference, and I know she will make a difference," her mother, Anshu Mani, told Fox 6 Now.

"All she saw in people was good. Blessings are all over us right now. I can feel that. God sent her. She had a purpose. She served it and she's home with the Lord," Mani was quoted as saying.
