19-Year-Old Found Fatally Shot After Crash In East Oakland
Madisyn Alandra Suzanne White-Carroll had just celebrated her birthday days earlier when she got behind the wheel in East Oakland, California on her way home.
The 19-year-old was described by her family as having “the most beautiful soul inside and out.” She was smart, intelligent and didn’t get involved in any foolishness.
So it is all the more heartbreaking that senseless violence took her life.
Authorities say that Madiysn crashed her vehicle on E Street, but many questions remain. When responding officers got to the scene about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 they found that Madisyn had been shot.
Because of the murky circumstances surrounding the slaying, police don’t know if Madisyn was shot before or after the crash.
There are no suspects and police have yet to make an arrest.
“She was such a good girl, she didn’t drink, smoke, none of that, no boyfriend,” Madisyn’s mother Shauna White and father Erik Carroll told the East Bay Times. “She was focused on figuring out how to use her intelligence” and channeled it into artistic work like styling clothing and makeup, White said.
“She was just very grounded,” White said, describing Carroll as “like an anchor to me. She was a very serious girl who didn’t go for nonsense. I’m a light(-hearted) person and can be silly, but her humor’s a little different. When she was little, some babies you can tickle, but you would have to perform to make her laugh.”
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
A GoFundMe has been set up to take care of expenses related to Madisyn’s funeral costs. This is how it reads:
Two weeks after turning 19 years old, she was tragically taken from us. On the evening of December 10, 2019 she was fatally shot. Needless to say, this is the most devastating thing that could happen to any parents- and the whole family is completely heartbroken. Madisyn did not deserve this, she worked hard and went to school and she helped care for her younger siblings. She was such a good girl, so responsible and always had the brightest spirit.
Please do let us know if you have any information related to the incident as we seek Justice for Madisyn. We ask that you pray for all of her family and loved ones- this is such an unexpected tragedy and any donations will be so greatly appreciated as this will help the family.
