Courtney Reese: 32-Year-Old Mother of 4 Struck Down in Atlanta

Courtney Reese, 32, a mother of four, was gunned down outside a home in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Police have yet to make an arrest.

Courtney Reese, 32, was a loving mother of four honored and celebrated her life just days after she was killed.

She was shot to death on Tuesday, August 20, 2024,  in Atlanta, leaving a family anguished after her younger sister was also the victim of gun violence just a few months ago.

Reese left behind three girls, ages 13, 9 and 6, and an 11-year-old son.

"She didn't deserve this. Her kids will miss her. Her sisters, her brother, dad James and mom Shiba. We're all going to miss Coco," the victim’s older sister, Lena, told local TV station 11Alive.

Her family members held a vigil for her recently, according to local reports.

"She was a vibe. She was the life of the party. She was everybody's hype man, everybody's cook. She loved to make party food. Tonight, it's a party! It's a celebration like Courtney would've had any other day," Lena was quoted as saying.

Reese was found on the ground by Atlanta police officers badly wounded after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. APD said despite life-saving measures, Reese died from her injuries.

The heartless shooting was captured by a Ring camera security system, according to police. In the  27-second video clip,  man who appeared to be dressed in all white, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, walking up to Reese, who is standing outside a home.

You hear Reese in the video saying, "Please. I don't..." Reese frighteningly says in the video, pleading with the man. The person aims a gun at her and fires at point-blank range, shooting her at least 10 times. Reese collapses onto the pavement and the person flees down a driveway.

The tip can result in a reward of up to $2,000 to the individual who supplied the information needed to solve the case.
