Ashlee Elliott, 18, was one of two people shot early Sunday, March 13, 2022 on Chicago’s South Side, police said.

Authorities have released little information in the double shooting, other than revealing that a gunman approached the two and opened fire.

Along with Elliott, a 19-year-old man who officers have not yet publicly identified, were both shot in their faces, according to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.

They were rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where the Elliott was pronounced dead, police said. The man was in serious condition, officials said.

The incident happened around 4:20 a.m., police said.

Chicago police have launched an investigation into the shootings.
