Brittany Booker: Mother Of 6 Killed In Racine, Wisconsin
Brittany Booker, 30, of Racine, Wisconsin, had recently graduated from nursing school. The mother of six was looking forward to a fruitful career.
Booker was reported missing on the morning of Sunday morning, April 24, 2022, around 9:30 a.m. Responding officers found Booker's body in her vehicle on a city road, according to news reports.
"This is not fair. This is not fair to her," Brittany's cousin Shameeka Boykin told TV station WISN. "No one is doing good right now."
While not a lot has been released about the circumstances surrounding Booker’s murder, what is known is that she had previous dealings with a man wanted for attempted homicide.
Booker’s friend was involved in an abusive relationship and the man allegedly attacked them both in February. He was armed with a hammer, according to news reports.
Racine police have identified 42-year-old Terry L. Jackson as the suspect. His whereabouts are unknown, but police say he is armed and dangerous. An intense manhunt is underway.
"She didn't deserve it. He didn't have to do her like that. She didn't deserve it," Faith Spencer, Booker's cousin, told the TV station.
An online fundraiser has amassed nearly $20,000 for the victim’s children, according to Kenosha News.
The fundraiser was started by Yogi Edwards, who owns Yogi’s Pud’n. Edwards says she used to be neighbors with Booker’s for 20 years.
“My community comes together in tragic situations and we give from the heart,” she said, “and we do not put any expectations on what we give.”
Police are offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to Jackson’s arrest. Authorities said if anyone sees him, do not approach him. If you have relevant any information, tcall 262-939-2437 or 262-635-7761. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously at 262-636-9330.
