Brittany Kinlow: 23-Year-Old College Student Shot Dead In Her Chicago Apartment Building
Brittany Kinlow, 23, was found fatally shot, around 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, in her apartment building according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Brittany Nicole Kinlow was a promising student at the University of Illinois Chicago who was just days away from graduation. Instead of celebration, the family of the 23-year-old Evanston, Illinois native must now cope with tragedy.
Kinlow was found fatally shot, around 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, in her apartment building according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
She suffered a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.
“She was a sweet, caring, loving young lady that had her whole life ahead of her,” Tony Richardson, a local activist who knows some of Kinlow’s relatives, told BlockClub Chicago. “She did nothing to deserve this.”
While investigating Kinlow’s death, police also found the body of a 26-year-old man inside a separate apartment in the same building. Authorities are working to see if the murders are linked in some way.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help care for Kinlow’s funeral expenses.
