Chandreka Graham: Pregnant Mother, 31, Shot To Death in South Carolina; Husband Charged

Graham, 31, was found dead in her Richland County, South Carolina home on Wednesday, June 18, 2024, about 11 a.m., according to law enforcement. Her husband has been charged in her slaying.

Chandreka Graham, who already had a 2-year-old son, was looking forward to motherhood again so much that she had already come up with a name for her yet-to-be-born daughter: Teegan.

Graham, 31, was found dead in her Richland County, South Carolina home on Wednesday, June 18, 2024, about 11 a.m., according to law enforcement.

Sheriff’s deputies performing a welfare check arrived at the home and saw from outside that a woman was lying on the floor appearing unresponsive. When they entered the home, they found Graham suffering from “significant trauma to the head,” according to TV station WLTX.

Graham’s father, Harold White of Tallahassee, Florida, said he was shaken when he got the phone call.

"The coroner introduced themself, and that’s when they proceeded to tell me that she was deceased," White told the TV station. "I literally was on the highway and had to pull over. That’s a call that no parent in life should ever get."

Graham's stepmother, Cathy White, said the young mom, who was seven months pregnant, “absolutely loved being a mom," she said. "More than anything, she loved being a mom. And she was a great mom."

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced that they have arrested the victim’s husband, 35-year-old Jerrod Graham, in the murder of his wife and her unborn child. He is also being held for outstanding charges related to unlawful possession of a weapon from May 2023.

Graham’s mother, Yvonne Louden, said the family is trying its best to move forward through the pain.

“Chandreka was raised in a loving family,” Louden told WSTV. If one hurt, we all hurt, if one needed one we were there, and the passion that my family is showing now is exactly what she would want.”

As for Graham’s family, they stay all they can do now is bond closer.

“So what we do is, we as a family come together and love,” Louden was quoted as saying.
