Chelsea Milledge: Georgia Mother of 4 Shot To Death in Front of Kids
A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, when 33-year-old Chelsea Milledge, a mother of four, was fatally shot in her Albany, Georgia home. While her children were unharmed, her 10-year-old daughter witnessed the devastating event.
“She barely got any sleep, crying for her mother,” said Milledge’s father, Anthony Milledge, in an interview with WALB-TV. “We’re all grieving, and I understand her pain. I feel her pain because I’m going through this with her.”
The Albany Police Department reported Thursday morning that Milledge was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for surgery but later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed what may have led to the shooting.
Describing his daughter as a “quiet, sweet, homebody,” Anthony Milledge vowed to seek justice for her.
“Every court date, every parole date—I will be there. I won’t miss any of it. I promise,” he said.
Police arrested 21-year-old Eugene Barber based on evidence collected at the scene. Barber has been charged with Milledge’s murder, home invasion in the first degree, and possession of a firearm, according to Albany Police.
Milledge’s family is now focused on caring for her four children, who are currently living with their grandparents.
