Christina Lanette Smith: 27-Year-Old Mother Stabbed To Death In Virginia
Christina Lanette Smith, 27, was stabbed to death on Sunday, March 13, 2022. A female acquaintance has been arrested.
Christina Lanette Smith, a 27-year-old mother who lived in Woodbridge, Virginia, was set to begin a new job days after her life was cut short.
She was known as a loving person that was attentive to those in her life.
"She would do stuff for people just out of the kindness of her heart," her stepmother Felicia Shands told NBC News. "She loved her kids. She loved her family, you know, and that’s why it's hard."
On March 13, 2022, a little after 8 p.m. Smith got into an argument with a female acquaintance in a Dumfries home.
Smith had come to the home with her boyfriend to discuss a disagreement of some sort, according to NBC News.
As the argument escalated, the female acquaintance retrieved a knife and allegedly stabbed Smith in the upper body, according to the police report.
A witness tried to life-saving measures on Smith, but they were unsuccessful. Smith succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Rollanda Latavia Garrett, 34, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, according to news reports.
"It's hard. I mean, the house is not going to be the same anymore with her gone," Smith's stepmother Felicia Shands told NBC News.
"It's tough, it's really tough right now," Smith's father Hubert Smith was quoted as saying.
