Kasmira Nash worked at Humana as her main job and as a bartender at Vibes Restaurant & Lounge, a trendy club in Louisville, Kentucky. The mother of two teenagers did what she could to provide for her family.

It was at her bartender job that Nash, 37, was killed.

Friends and family of the young mother want justice to be done after she was fatally shot in a nightclub on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
When police officers arrived on the scene, they found a mortally wounded Nash and an injured man.
“She didn't deserve this, she was just a beautiful person," Brittany Black, a former Louisville resident who now lives in Texas, told WHAS11. Black had known Nash for a long time.

According to WHAS11, Nash was in the club when she saw a man that she and her friends believe shot and killed one of her friends in August 2020. According to Black, witnesses told her that some sort of altercation ensued.

"I think [Nash] may have reached out, hit him or something physical happened, but he shot her," Black was quoted as saying. "He shot her in a club in front of hundreds of people and he walked right out as if nothing had happened."

Despite the club having a lot of people there, Louisville Metro Police launched an investigation but it turned up very little early on.

"I'm mad," Black told the TV station. I'm mad at the fact that the person who everyone knows committed this crime is living their best life."

Speaking to WDRB, the victim's mother wants the world to know that her daughter was very much loved.

""She was a mother; she was a daughter; she was a sister," Kathy Davis said. "She was loved; her heart was so full. ... What we want people to know is that, even though she tragically left us, her memories will always be endearing to us, and we will always cherish every moment that we had and shared with Kasmira."

On May 11, Ronnie Tyshon O'Bannon, 27, a DJ for rapper Jack Harlow, was indicted on murder and tampering with evidence charges in connection with the slaying. He was promptly jailed and had his bond set at $500,000.

Jack Harlow was seen on video footage just feet away from the altercation and shooting by O'Bannon, who goes by the stage name "Ronnie Lucciano,"

According to Defense attorney Steve Romines, O'Bannon has admitted to shooting a gun in a crowded club. But before the gun was brandished, Romines told the court, "initially, Ms. Nash attacked Mr. O'Bannon with a champagne bottle -- hit him in the head with it."

Romines told the court he has provided them with "pictures of where it split his head open." According to Romines, Nash came at O'Bannon a second time, and "he defended himself."

Meanwhile, the tragic death of a mother and daughter has fractured the peace of Nash's family.

"My heart is breaking because of what has happened," Davis told WDRB. "As a Christian, I know death comes — but not this way. I didn't get to say goodbye."
