N-Kya Rebecca Logan was looking forward to the birth of her baby, which was due in February 2023. Instead her family is planning a funeral.

Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderama says Logan, 26, was fatally stabbed then set afire by her 41-year-old brother, Aaron Jamal Dudley.

Balderama said that the Fresno Fire Department responded to the blaze, and witnessed part of the tragedy.

"When they arrived they saw a victim who had been set on fire, completely engulfed in fire," he said.

Logan lived with her mother and Dudley, who authorities said attacked Logan inside their home, stabbing her repeatedly with a sharp object.

He then allegedly put his sister in the garage, where she was put in a garbage bag. He then allegedly pushed it to a nearby dirt road and poured gasoline on Logan’s body, setting it aflame.

The police chief said that they believe they have a strong case against the victim’s brother as a suspect.

"We have several witnesses who saw the fire, but one witness who actually took a picture of a person who we believe is the suspect standing over the body. Several surveillance videos which show the suspect pushing a trash bin. We believe the victim was inside the trash bin. She was taken to the alley before she was set on fire."

Dudley has been jailed in Fresno County and is facing two murder charges, including the killing of a fetus.
