Raniyah A’shanti Gandy, 19, was killed around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 just outside an apartment complex in Orlando, Florida. The mysterious shooting has puzzled sheriff’s deputies with the  Orange County Sheriff’s Department, who continue to probe the case.

A preliminary investigation from Orange County Sheriff’s said that Gandy was found in her vehicle after being critically wounded from gunfire. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died.  

Law enforcement have yet to name a suspect or release any information related to it.

 A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information in the murder, according to Crime Stoppers.

As for now, sheriff’s deputies only know what they know from surveillance video taken at the scene. In the footage, you can reportedly see bullet holes in the driver-side window of Gandy’s car, which was likely shot at from a vehicle, according to law enforcement officials.

A local pastor told WKMG TV that he and his congregation would be there for the family of Gandy as well as the community. “There’s nothing really to be said that’s gonna console a family for an untimely death or a tragedy such as this, but when you have people that can wrap their loving arms around and be there for you, that’s what I want the family to know,” R. Keith Hicks, pastor of Orlando West Ministries, which is located across from the apartments,. “As a ministry, as a church, if they need us: we’re here.”
