TaShawnna Anderson: 26-Year-Old Mother Gunned Down In Chicago
According to police, TaShawnna Anderson, 26, caught her friend’s boyfriend with another woman after 1 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the 10Pin Bowling Lounge in Chicago’s River North area.
Anderson, who was with her sister, 31-year-old LaShawn Anderson, went to confront the man when things turned violent.
LaShawn, speaking to local media, said the man got out of the vehicle and punched her cousin, then aimed a gun at the Anderson sisters and pulled the trigger."She was like, 'He shot me! He shot me," LaShawn told WSL TV.
In the panic, LaShawn, who was also shot, said she did what she could to try to save her sister’s life. "I was putting pressure on her wound so it wouldn't bleed out no more. I'm telling her, 'You could make it! You can hold on!' Because I know she's strong,'" LaShawn recalled."She told me to tell her daughter she loves her. After that, she wasn't taking breaths. She was trying to breathe. And it wasn't going away," said LaShawn.
The tragedy has left LaShawn with questions that may never be answered. "Why would you shoot my sister? She wasn't arguing with him or nothing! She wasn't even arguing with him. She was taking up for her friend," LaShawn told the TV station.
The gunman was able to jump in the car and flee the scene, according to media reports. Immediately after the incident, police had not made any arrests.
