Trinece Fedison: New Orleans woman found stuffed in garbage can

Trenice Fedison of New Orleans was found stabbed and stuffed head-first in a city garbage can the day before Thanksgiving 2014. A 42-year-old man was convicted in January of Fedison's slaying.

Trinece Fedison was a 43-year-old woman from New Orleans. She was somebody's daughter. She was also somebody's mother. She loved the street life. But she was a woman of dignity and respect.

Her body was found in a garbage can. She had been stuffed head-first. A city code enforcement worker walked upon the gruesume finding on November 26, 2014, the day before Thanksgiving.

Police had no suspects until an employer days later called police saying that his worker told him that he "had sex with a prostitute around Nov. 26 who was found deceased in a garbage can close to his residence," according to the affidavit obtained by The New Orleans Times Picayune.

Evangelisto Ramos, 42, was arrested shortly after giving police two interviews. He told police, according to the affidavit, that Fedison was a prostitute that he visited frequently.

Police have never officially confirmed whether she was involved in prostitution.

A month after the slaying, Lorraine Fedison-Winder, Trinece's younger sister, told WDSU-TV, that the thought of her family member suffering during her last moments was nearly too much to take. "I think so much about those last moments of being upside down in a garbage can calling out for your life," Fedison-Winder told the TV station. "Waiting and praying that somebody could just hear you, but there was no one there to come to her call."

Ramos was convicted in January 2016 of second-degree murder, but his sentencing was last week in mid-July.

"I do forgive you freely and fully, because i'm a woman of God," Fedison's sister Terri  told Ramos, shacked sitting next to his legal counsel. "But you reap what you sow," she said, the Times-Picayune reports.

Fedison's daughter Jade Keller is still trying to cope with the slaying. "The thoughts of her mother's death haunt her,"  said Terri Harris, the victim's aunt."She's really lost and confused," Terri said, according to the Times-Picayune.
