Celestina Holley: 40-year-old grandmother found stabbed to death in Memphis alley
Celestina Holley was a Memphis, Tennessee mother of two and grandmother of one with one on the way. She had so much to live for. And she was willing to fight for it.
On Saturday, February 11, 2017, police found the body of a woman who had been stabbed several times. Her body had been left in an alley.
On Sunday, police contacted Holley's family, telling them to come to the scene for devastating news.
“It just hurt me so bad,” Holley’s cousin, Lisa Stringfellow, told WMC. “Real bad, and they just stabbed her like that and took her life away and now she’s gone.”
“I was looking for her all day yesterday,” Stringfellow, was quoted as saying. “Hoping when I pulled off and turned that corner, I'd see her. And I don't get a chance to see her no more. She’s gone.”
Investigators told the family that Holley fiercely fought for her life. “She did afight, the detective says, she put up a fight,” Holley’s sister, April Gant, told the TV station.
Police have no suspects in the slaying. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Memphis Police Department.
