Kenyatta McCurry: 3-Months Pregnant Indiana Woman Shot To Death; Man Charged

 Kenyatta McCurry, 33, was found dead in the 3000 block of S. Michigan Street on March 12. Gregory Jones is charged in her slaying. McCurry was allegedly pregnant with Jones' child.

In July 2017, the trial of a man accused of murdering a pregnant woman in her South Bend home will take place in Indiana.

Kenyatta McCurry had four children and was expecting her fifth. She was three months pregnant and looking forward to a new addition to her family.

 A single gunshot wound changed everything.

 Kenyatta McCurry, 33, was found dead in the 3000 block of S. Michigan Street on March 12. Police arrested Gregory Jones on murder charges. Jones originally told detectives that he was with his "girlfriend" when the slaying occurred. He then admitted that he was at McCurry's home during the time in question, but he said that when he left the home she was alive.

Jones' girlfriend, Tiaira Miller, was charged with trying to hinder the police investigation.

"That's even worse to know that another person was involved in the situation," McCurry's sister-in-law, Rhonise Jacobs told reporters. "We’re out here mourning the loss of somebody and she’s willing to protect somebody that did it."

McCurry's body was found after a passerby noticed her children walking outside, barefoot with no shoes.
