Kiesha Price: 30-Year-Old Houston Woman Fatally Shot At Gas Station
A woman is dead after two teenagers shot her during a brazen carjacking in Houston. Kiesha Price, 30, was sitting inside the passenger seat of a BMW outside a Valero gas station about 11:30 p.m. on February 5, 2018, according to news reports. Her boyfriend and his uncle both went inside the convenience store.
That’s when two young men rode up on bicycles and one entered on the passenger side and the other on the driver’s. A struggle ensued and the incident was caught on surveillance video.
Police said the two suspects tried to carjack the victim, but Price fought back. She was felled by a single bullet, authorities said. The suspects fled the scene but were later caught.
The suspects were identified as Jermia Guillory, 20, and D’Marquis Boone, 24, who were arrested Thursday.
"This is just an absolutely senseless, vicious act by two cowards," Lt. W.L. Meeler, HPD Homicide, said, according to CW Houston. "They decided to escalate the situation and struggle with her and take her life for no reason, for a car that they weren't going to keep anyway."
"I thank God for this process and where it is right now," Victor T. Price, Kiesha's brother and a minister at City Cathedral Church, told ABC13. "We can start the funeral process and also our family bonding together to get through this tragic time."
He said he will help his nephew come to appreciate who his mother was. "I'll tell him his mom was a great person and he has a legacy to live and just live his life. She'll always be there with him," Price was quoted as saying.
HPD has arrested two suspects in the shooting/attempted carjacking of a female on Monday at 11249 Bissonnet. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. #hounews
