LeJill Lewis: 49-Year-Old Mother Gunned Down In Mississippi; Man Held
LeJill Lewis was a loving mother who raised four women in Mississippi. She was loved by all who knew her in Tylertown, the county seat in Walthall County. She was found shot to death in her driveway about 6 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 on North Patten Road in Sandy Hook.
Lewis was taken by ambulance to Walthall General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, investigators said.
James was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, authorities said.
J.C. James, Jr., 51, of Tylertown was apprehended by sheriff's deputies and is being held on a first-degree murder charge. He was given a $1 million bond when he went before the judge a day later, ensuring that he will stay in jail until trial, according to WAPT.
After the shooting, Lewis was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to her injuries. Her body was then taken to the Mississippi Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
