Eleni Kassa: Missing Tennessee Mother Found Dead In Car Truck In Michigan
Eleni Kassa, 31, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, vanished sometime on November 17, 2022. That was the afternoon she was supposed to pick her daughter up from school.
The next day, her family reported her missing.
For more than two weeks, investigators searched for the woman, whose cell phone and car remained at her Murfreesboro apartment, according to Murfreesboro police.
On Sunday, November 27, 2022, a woman behind the wheel on the streets of Dearborn, Michigan, just outside Detroit, drew the attention of police cruisers on a local street.
When Dearborn police cruisers approached the black Dodge Charger, the driver sped off. A police chase ensued and a fatal shootout between the officers and driver occurred, according to Dearborn police.
The deceased was identified by the Wayne County Medical Examiner as 36-year-old Dominique Hardwick of Lebanon, Tennessee.
When officers opened the truck of the vehicle, they found the body of Kassa, her girlfriend.
An autopsy revealed Hardwick died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Michigan State Police.
Law enforcement has yet to reveal how Kassa was killed. As part of their investigation, detectives are however interviewing a 34-year-old woman who was a passenger in the front seat and was injured, police said.
