Body Of Toddler Found In Atlanta-Area River; Woman Arrested
Cobb County firefighters we’re outdoors along one of Georgia’s most iconic rivers filming a public service announcement when they made a startling discovery: They notice a child’s body floating in the Chattahoochee River.
The firemen made the grisly discovery around 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 in Cobb County, Georgia, just outside Atlanta.
Cobb police said they had believed the child’s body had been in the water for at least 48 hours. But after further investigation, they established that the little girl may have been killed as early as June 26.
Cobb County Police have arrested Breyanla Cooper, who they say concealed the child’s death. The relationship between Cooper and the child has not been confirmed by authorities as of yet.
“It is horrible. i hope it’s not true for her sake,” neighbor Cheryl Robinson told WSB-TV. “I pray that everything works out, and I’m just so sorry this happened. I’m sorry about the baby.”
