Danielle Banks: Woman, 29, Beaten, Killed, Set on Fire Over $65 Debt
Danielle Banks of Harvey, Illinois, was a lively woman who had a big smile and a big voice. She loved to sing, her father told a local news outlet.
"She got caught up on drugs," her father said. "When she decided to live that life that's when things got bad," he said. "I know what that life is like. She would call me every other day and tell me what's going on."
Banks's body was found December 9, 2023 in the suburban city of Riverdale.
Banks was stabbed and beaten so bad, her eye was hanging from its socket, according to Chicago media. She was then set on fire.
Police have charged three suspects -- Scotty Jobe-Scott, 30, Keith Bassett, 55, and Latoya Laramore-Milons, 39 -- with first-degree murder in connecton with Banks' death.
The reason why she was killed? $65 owned to her alleged killers, according to her father.
Laramore-Milons had the song "Killing the Rats" on her phone, according to prosecutors, who revealed that the suspects played that music to cover the sounds of Danielle's screams while she died..
Prosecutors said Laramore-Milons also used his phone to researched "murder and burned body" on her before killing Danielle.
