Jamila Rogers: 27-Year-Old North Carolina Woman Killed In Domestic Shooting

Jamila Rogers of Raleigh, North Carolina, was known as a very sweet woman.
The 27-year-old was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022. Her family members said that Rogers was a victim of domestic violence, which stemmed from a confrontation she had with several people.
“They stepped up to her and she pushed them back - he told her don’t you ever put your hands on me again," her aunt told TV station WRAL. "She was walking off [and] she turned back around and he shot her."
The family is still trying to cope with the tragic loss, which they say was unnecessary.
“I was devastated. I was there," her aunt was quoted as saying. "I was there to lay with her on the ground hoping that she would survive. She never came back. I was hoping she was coming home.”
“God knows what he’s doing, but it’s hard to accept when it’s yours ... your own," said Rogers. "When it comes to domestic violence separate yourself, because it could cost you your life or others.”
At this writing, Raleigh police had yet to identify a suspect.
