Jasmine McHenry: 29-Year-Old Houston Mother Gunned Down In Front Of Her Daughter
Jasmine McHenry’s family is planning her funeral after a tragic end to her relationship with her common-law husband in Houston.
According to witnesses, the boyfriend shot the girlfriend inside their apartment in front of family members, including their 9-year-old daughter.
The fatal shooting took place Sunday evening on June 11, 2023. According to media reports, Azariah, the 9-year-old girl, called her grandmother before the shooting took place.
“My Mama told me to call my Grandmama and she told me that Thomas pulled out a gun,” Azariah told a news reporter.
Officers responding to a shots fired call found McHenry “inside her apartment suffering from a gunshot wound,” the City said in a press release. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The suspect, Thomas Wilson Alexander, 32, is charged with murder, the City of Houston said in a press release.
Charging documents say Alexander shot his wife three times in front of her daughter.
Alexander’s bond has been set at $1 million.
