Booker leaves behind a family comprising five children aged 15, 10, eight, six, and a newborn. The family revealed that Booker was on the verge of delivering the newborn girl just days prior to her tragic demise. T. Nicole Taylor, Booker's cousin, recounted the horrifying incident where a shooting occurred into the car she was in on August 5th in Avondale.
In a fortunate turn of events, Taylor shared that Booker was accompanied by three of her children in the backseat of the car.
By what can only be described as the grace of God, none of the bullets struck them. Despite the attack, someone from a personal vehicle rushed Booker to the hospital, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries.
In an effort to save her child's life, medical professionals successfully delivered Israella, who was subsequently placed under intensive care. The alleged perpetrator, Miquan Barfield, 22, was apprehended on Thursday in connection with Booker's death. Barfield's arrest followed a police pursuit that ended in a collision in Norwood.
To support the expenses for Booker's funeral and aid her five children, the family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign.

We lost a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin and a friend who was 9 months pregnant and a mother of four. One of Nia’s biggest joys in life was being a mother! She will be missed by her children and family tremendously even as we grasp to understand this senseless act. We must lay her to rest and provide for the children she leaves behind, including the one who survived from the womb but remains in critical condition as a result of the trauma.
