Raesha Heard: Mother Shot Dead In Front Of Son in DeKalb County, Ga.
Raesha Heard was a lively Atlanta-area mother who was known as the life of the party.
Heard was getting groceries out of the trunk in her parent's driveway on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, when a gunman snuck up on her and shot her multiple times, killing her.
The fatal shooting was witnessed by Heard’s 8-year-old son, who was also outside the home in DeKalb County, Georgia, just outside Atlanta.
"Words can't explain how bad it hurts. For them to have had to witness that, it is just unexplainable," her friend Kenya Cuffie told a local TV station. "It's so hard."
It is no mystery to Raesha’s friends or family who shot her. They are upset that no arrest has been made in the case.
"I am upset because it's day six, and the person who did this is still not caught. He's still out this," Niah Boykin told Atlanta TV station Fox 5.
According to the victim’s friends, the gunman has been posting on social media. “It’s like he’s taunted us,” they said.
Police confirmed they have identified a suspect, but they told FOX 5 they were not yet ready to release his name.

“Raesha Heard was murdered Wednesday October 11th in her parents driveway in Atlanta, Ga. She was a mother of 2 young boys ages 12 and 8 years old as well as a daughter, sister, loving aunt, and friend. She was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in the driveway of her parents house in front of her two children. Please help donate the funeral expenses, mental health expenses, and care of her two boys. Her parents and siblings will now be responsible for the care of her two children and are in need of financial assistance to do so.
The Heard family has experienced a ton of loss and grief as Romello Heard, 15, was also murdered last year due to gun violence.”
