Kadejah Jackson: 21-year-old Illinois woman shot 5 times after argument with boyfriend
A suburban Chicago family is mourning the life of their little sister and daughter right now. The issue that ended her life was petty in the grand scheme of things. Yet, Kadejah Ariel Jackson is dead, shot "multiple times" early in the morning on Jan. 27, 2017 on an Indiana street.
The 21-year-old was shot five times in the lower abdomen, according to court documents obtained by local media outlets.
The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at 3:55 a.m. at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, hours after the shooting.
Police said the homicide stems from an altercation that happened at a mall earlier in the day.
Kashena Lavette Hayes, 23, and Jackson had beef because the 21-year-old was seeing Hayes' boyfriend, 24-year-old Lavell Holloway, cops, the Chicago Tribune reports. A confrontation went down at River Oaks Mall in Calumet City, Illinois.
After midnight, the disagreement escalated. This, according to the Tribune:
The victim's brother told police he looked outside and saw Hayes and two other women carrying pieces of wood, or a bat, and a pipe, court documents said. The man said he told the women to leave, but they returned after a few minutes.
The woman's mother told police she went outside with Jackson and others to see where Hayes and her friends went. The woman told investigators she saw Hayes drive Holloway's Nissan Altima in front of the house and stop the car. Holloway got out of the front passenger door and fired seven to eight shots toward the women, the probable cause affidavit states. Jackson was cut down by the gunfire.
Police arrested Hayes and Holloway and charged them with her murder.
