Jazzy Kuykendall: 25-year-old woman shot in head during argument with brother
Jazzy Kuykendall, 25, was involved in a heated confrontation with her brother Marquavious Kuykendall when she was abruptly shot in the head.
The argument "turned into a physical struggle over a gun when (Jazzy) was shot,” College Park Deputy Chief Ferman Williford told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution
It happened February 8, 2017 in College Park police said.
Her family thought she would pull through, but Jazzy succumbed to her injuries while in hospice care. "My baby fought, she fought,” her mother told a local TV station.
Her 22-year-old brother, Marquavious Kuykendall, was arrested on multiple weapons charges, along with possession of marijuana less than one ounce -- but not felony murder.
Other people were in the home at the time, but have not provided the necessary information to law enforcement.
“I think somebody out there knows more and I wish they would come forward,” Lisa Crawford, the siblings’ mother, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Now, Jazzy's two children -- a 4-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son -- is in the care of her mother.
"I promised my daughter I would do my best to raise them,” Crawford was quoted as saying.
Crawford said she is grieving the breakup of her family. "It's like losing two children. One is in jail. And one, I'm about to bury," she told WAGA.
A GoFundMe has been set up for expenses related to Kuykendall's burial.
