Shavon Randle: 13-Year-Old Teen Found Dead Days In Dallas After Amber Alert

The body of 13-year-old Shavon Randle, who disappeared Wednesday and was feared to be kidnapped, has been found by federal investigators in an abandoned building in south Dallas, officials said. The investigation is not over, authorities are looking for one more person of interest.

Shavon Randle, a 13-year-old who was the center of an Amber Alert days ago, has been found dead early Sunday in south Dallas. Her body was found along with that of an unidentified man.

Shavon was declared missing Wednesday, touching off a massive manhunt in the city. The Federal Bureau of Investigation offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to the girl's return. Sunday morning, law enforcement officers raided an abandoned home on Sunnydale Street in the Oakcliff part of the city, where they found the bodies.

Eric Jackson, special agent in charge of the Dallas office of the FBI, told DFW CBS that they hope Shavon's family has a measure of closure, but the investigation is far from over.

“We didn’t have the positive result we were looking for,” Jackson told the TV station.  “But being able to let Shavon’s family know that we’ve located her was our goal.”

Dallas police are searching for one more person of interest in Shavon's death.

“Anyone that we find that were involved in this heinous crime against Shavon we will bring you to justice, and we will hold you accountable,” Jackson said.
