Jackisha Bayard: 21-Year-Old Miami Woman Gunned Down By Boyfriend, Police Say
Jackisha Bayard loved to post pictures of herself on social media. The spiring beautician would do her makeup and that of her friends then post it on the internet. The 21-year-old Miami woman loved to get likes on Instagram and Facebook. She wanted to be liked and loved, like everyone else.
So Miami police said that she was at her residence on Northwest 38th Street when her boyfriend called her. He said that he was coming over and to come outside.
"Upon arrival, officers made contact with Jackisha Bayard," Officer Christopher Bess of the Miami Police Department told local news. "According to investigators, the victim was at home when she received a phone call on her cellular phone from her boyfriend, Gregory Brown Jr. ... asking her to come outside."
When he pulled up, he summoned her to the car. That's when authorities say 22-year-old Gregory Brown Jr. pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking Bayard.
Bullets tore through Bayard's chest and torso as she turned to run away, going only a short distance before collapsing at her doorstep. When first responders arrived, they found Bayard lying there in her own blood. Brown was nowhere to be found.
“She was a loving person with a heart full of gold,” Moses Kilpatrick, a friend, told the Miami Herald. “It hurts a lot of us.”
Bayard was transported by emergency medical personnel to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Brown surrendered to authorities and is charged with first-degree murder.
