Dominique Farria: 31-Year-Old Mother Of 4 Shot Dead; Husband Charged
Dominique Farria, 31, was shot dead inside her car while two of her four children looked on in horror on July 24, 2018 in Harvey, Louisiana. Her husband has been charged in the slaying.
Dominique Farria was a mother of four children in Harvey, Louisiana, just outside New Orleans. She married her high school sweetheart and the two were marriage for about 12 years.
Her husband, Ray Farria is behind bars after being accused of shooting his wife, according to news reports.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said that the couple had a domestic dispute that erupted into a shooting on July 24, 2018.
According to the New Orleans Times Picayune, an argument occurred the day before when Ray Farria ran across a 2015 Instagram post which led him to believe that his wife had contact with another man, according to court testimony.
The fussing died down later that day but restarted while they were in the car with two of their children.
The Times Picayune then reports this:
The couple's children later told investigators they heard "words being said during this argument that they never wanted to hear again, a way two adults should never carry on," according to court testimony, including their father threatening to "cave her face in," Lead Detective Kristian Fricke said.
At one point, Mr. Farria attempted to choke his wife in a Walmart parking lot, according to the Times Picayune.
Things escalated with Dominique evidently trying to flee the scene with Mr. Farria outside the car. The sheriff’s office said that for about a half-mile Mr. Farria was hanging onto the hood of the car while Dominique was behind the wheel.
That’s when authorities said that the husband pulled the trigger, striking Dominique with a single gunshot to the neck. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to xxx, two of their children were inside the vehicle when the shooting occurred. One of the kids reportedly called their grandmother and said, “My dad just shot by mom,” according to WLTV.
