Brittany Richard: 33-Year-Old Mother of 2 Stabbed To Death Outside Texas Bar
Brittany Richard, 33, of Texas City, Texas, was just about to sign divorce papers and begin a new life, but hers has tragically been snatched away.
Richard, a mother of two children ages 13 and 9, was out having a good time celebrating the birthday of a younger cousin at a local sports bar on Friday, August 30, 2024, when a melee erupted.
According to Shametria Richard, the victim’s mother, the unprovoked attack began when Richard’s younger cousin was stabbed by two women while she was coming out of the restroom. When Richard came to her aide, she was stabbed nine times.
Thirty-five-year-old suspect Shynice Felder is in custody after being arrested in Houston. She faces charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond has been set at $450,000.
Turns out Felder is the current girlfriend of Richard’s former spouse. According to the victim’s cousins, the women had no prior dealings.
“If I could ask her anything, I would ask her why,” Richards’ mothertold TV cameras. “And why that night?”
