Christina Robinson: Woman, 24, Murdered In Her Cleveland Apartment
Christina Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio, was known by all as a kind-hearted young woman struggling in an abusive relationship.
Her family said they knew she was being mistreated, but that Robinson would always put up a front to make it seem like things were OK.
“Everybody on the street knew he was abusive to her. But she always tried to make him look like a good man though,” her brother told TV station Cleveland 19. “Because that was the type of person she was. She was a good person.”
Neighbors told local media that the couple could be heard arguing frequently.
“Sounded like they were slamming each other all the time. It was a very volatile relationship, toxic,” one apartment resident said.
But on Thursday May 13, 2021, Robinson and her boyfriend’s volatile relationship turned deadly. That’s when Cleveland officers were called to respond to a shorts fired call shortly before 4 a.m.
They made a grisly discovery: Christina was found dead with a gunshot wound in her chest.
“I heard it. It was sad. I heard gunshots. It happened right over my head,” neighbor Mary Dunson told Cleveland 19. “I tried to warn her. He seemed like a loose cannon.”
While Police have identified 23-year-old Malik Shabazz of Cleveland as a person of interest, they have not made an arrest.
Shabazz is wanted in connection with an armed robbery in August 2020 in downtown Cleveland, according to Cleveland.com.
“ Whoever know this guy turn him in. He’s dangerous,” Dunson was quoted as saying.
The victim’s brother had a more stern message. directed at the person who executed his sister.
“You could have handled that in a whole nother different way, a whole nother different way. It’s lots of females out here. You killing one, now you’re about to spend the rest of your life in jail or you gone end up getting killed. I’m just being honest.”
He also told Cleveland 19 that he had a stern warning for other women.
“Love is blind. So my message to these females out here, if any man decides to raise a hand slip, and leave him. Because if he’s got the b**** to raise a hand at you, he’s got the b**** to kill you as well,” he said.
