Dara Northern: 29-Year-Old Woman Killed In Washington, D.C.
Dara Northern was shot in the middle of the night about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, in a Washington, D.C. neighborhood.
When officers responded to the scene in the Takoma neighborhood of Northwest D.C., they found Northern fighting for her life.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. At the spot where her body was found, people in the community have laid flowers and other momentos, including a Black Lives Matter placard.
D.C. Police had offered a $25,000 reward for information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of the gunman.
On Monday, August 2, 2021, 34 year-old Idrissa Falls, of Northwest, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed. The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense was domestic in nature, according to a news release from Metro DC police.
