Phoenix Woman Desiree Colter, 31, Shot Dead In Murder-Suicide
Desiree Marie Colter, 31, and John Parker, 43, were living together as a couple at an apartment complex in Phoenix, Arizona.
On the morning of Tuesday, January 19, 2021, police and fire personnel responded to a shooting where the couple lived. What they found was an apparent murder-suicide, according to authorities.
Inside the apartment, officers found both Colter and Parker dead from gunshot wounds.
The shooting was the result of an domestic argument that turned physical, police said.Parker shot Colter, killing her, and then turned the gun on himself, Sgt. Ann Justus, a spokesperson for Phoenix police, told reporters.
Her obituary reads: “Thank you so much for everyone's love and support during this difficult time. Losing Dezzy has been very difficult for the entire family. She was a beautiful young lady with an even more beautiful soul. Those that knew her will forever remember her caring heart and infectious smile. While her death was untimely, the family is in need of donations to help with funeral services. Again we thank you and know that you are greatly appreciated.”
