Kailah Bledsoe, 22-Year-Old Woman Gunned Down In Chicago
Kailah Bledsoe, 22, was standing on the street in Chicago around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021, when her life was cut short.
According to police, Niquita Booker, 27, walked up to Bledsoe and shot her twice in the face. Booker also.is accused of firing shots at a 49-year-old man who was at the scene, but was not wounded.
After an investigation, Chicago police found out that the 49-year-old is the ex-boyfriend of Booker. He is also Bledsoe's father. The shooting was allegedly captured by a dash camera in a bystander’s car as they drove by, according to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.
Booker and Bledsoe had known each other and had words before, police said.
According to the Sun-Times: "Booker believed the younger woman and her father had recently burglarized her apartment, which is located in the same building where Bledsoe and her father live, prosecutors said."
After Booker and Bledsoe “exchanged words," Booker went to her car and came back with a handgun. She allegedly shot Bledsoe as she was walking into an alleyway.
Booker is charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
