Latima Warren: 33-Year-Old Mother Found Dismembered In Detroit; Ex-Boyfriend Arrestede
Latima Warren was a loving mother who loved to share jokes and homemade food. She also shared a home in Detroit with the father of her children. Warren went missing shortly after Christmas Day, to the chagrin of her family and children.
After leaving the home, no one had heard from her since December 28, 2021, according to TV station Fox 2 Detroit.
Police recently confirmed that her body parts were found in bags scattered around the residence. A child also inside the home was found unharmed, police said.
Warren, who has two boys and two girls all under 14 as well as a 3-month-old son, missed an early January birthday celebration, which caused concern among her family.
“It was pretty hard,” Adrian Warren, her older brother, told The Detroit News. “I knew something was wrong.”
But Warren’s whereabouts didn’t seem like a law enforcement priority until the relentless determination of her grandmother, Gwen Parks, who kept pressing the police to get more involved.
Parks, the grandmother of Warren's older boys, told local media that she grew suspicious of the ex-boyfriend when he told her that Warren had been missing for nearly a week but he hadn’t reported it.
She filed a missing persons report on Sunday, January January 16, 2022. She also put up fliers and told others about Warren’s disappearance.
A search party found some of Warrens’s clothes in the home’s backyard on Sunday, Accor
Law enforcement made the gruesome discovery after searching the home initially, then returning to the residence.
Detroit police have arrested Warren’s boyfriend, Rondell Waters.
The grandmother shared her account of the ordeal in this GoFundMe that she set up for her grandkids.
“I want to share my story of how I spent the past three weeks searching for my grandkid's mother. LaTima Warren (Tima), leaving no stone unturned, I asked favors from everyone I knew, and they came through for me. Bless you, all because the Detroit Police Detective Ruiz treated her like a runaway animal he thought no one loved and cared for. She wasn't giving the same energy that she deserved, and I wasn't given the respect I deserved by Detective Ruiz that was assigned to her case. But that didn't stop me until I reached out to Minister Malik Shabazz black panther activist/BLM. He prayed with me stayed with me until the pressure was on for the police to do their job. In the most horrific, heartbreaking, devastating, tragic way possible Tima body was found dismembered, chopped up in garbage bags throughout the home of Rondall Watters, the father of her 3-month-Old baby, my soul it at peace because I know I did all I could do to bring Tima back to her beautiful babies alive, her life was cut short at the tender age of 33.“
The victim’s mother now waits for justice to be done in the case, which has gone from a missing persons case to a homicide investigation.
“How could a person do something like that who was just lovable? She didn’t deserve what happened to her. It was really an awful thing,” Charita Warren was quoted as saying.
The investigation into Warren’s death continues. Please pray for her family and that the scourge of violence leave black women in the United States and elsewhere.
