Sa'Mon Richardson: Charter School Teacher Shot Dead On Chicago’s South Side
Sa'Mon Richardson, 35, put young people first as a teacher at CICS Washington Park, a diverse and innovative charter school in Chicago.
After successfully transitioning from the sales and retail industry, Richardson made it her life’s work to help children reach their full potential.
On her LinkedIn page, she wrote:
“Leadership is not for the faint at heart. You are called to do it. You were born to do it. My desire to serve others has professionally inspired me to pursue positions in management, customer service, administration, and youth ministries.”
Now, the community is trying to find out who killed her.
Richardson’s body was found inside a residence on the morning of Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Englewood neighborhood on the city’s South Side. She had been shot to death, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Officers who made the discovery, which occurred about 9:50 a.m., found that Richardson suffered a gunshot wound near her face.
According to Chicago PD, “The victim, a 35-year-old female, was found unresponsive inside a residence at the above location, with a gunshot wound to the chin. The victim was pronounced on scene. Circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. No one is in custody at this time. Area One detectives are investigating.”
