Whitney Breanna Sloan: Georgia Woman Shot Dead While Pumping Gas; Boyfriend Arrested
Whitney Sloan was shot to death on Monday, December 27, 2021, as she pumped gas at a QT gas station in Clayton County, Georgia just outside Atlanta. Police have arrested her boyfriend.
Whitney Breanna Sloan, 26, was someone who always wanted to help others, her family told local media.
That desire to assist may have cost her life, they reasoned.
Sloan was shot to death on Monday, December 27, 2021, as she pumped gas at a QT gas station in Clayton County, Georgia just outside Atlanta. Police have arrested her boyfriend, 18-year-old Ja’Quarius Thomas in connection with the murder.
“It’s like she attracted to broken people,” Sloan’s sister, Latarah Freeman, told Atlanta TV station WSB.
Freeman said that Thomas‘ anger would often spin out of control.
“He just had a rage part of him that I didn’t like, and I was like, he don’t have nothing to live for,” Freeman said. “He would hurt her and he would hurt himself.”
According to Surveillance video, Thomas is seen pumping gas about 10:30 at night. Thomas is seen inside the vehicle.
Inexplicably, gunshots erupt from inside the vehicle, striking Sloan.
The video then shows Thomas administering aid to Sloan as she struggles to breathe. She dies then and there.
“They had just left my aunt’s house like, ‘We going to the store. We will be right back,’” Freeman told WSB.
Thomas is charged with malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property. Police said the gun he used was stolen.
