Denise Williams: 56-Year-Old Baton Rouge Woman Shot In Car
Denise Williams was a 56-year-old hardworking mother of four daughters. The general manager at a Popeyes was behind the wheel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when she stopped at a red light. That's when authorities said a gunman walked up to her vehicle and shot her.
The shooting happened Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at Evangeline Street and North Foster Drive, Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. told The Advocate newspaper.
Despite being hit, Williams quickly drove down the street and pulled into the parking lot of the Family Dollar on Airline Highway. That's when she called police. Williams died on the scene, McKneely told the newspaper.
Williams' stepdaughter Nedra Caines said ""She gave us work and took care of her home and her kids and anybody else. She was a special, outgoing person. She wouldn't harm anyone."
