Karlea Thomas: 31-year-old Atlanta mother found dead by her 11-year-daughter

Karlea Renee Thomas, 31, was found dead Friday, March 17, 2017 in her southwest Atlanta home by her 11-year-old daughter. Her boyfriend is being questioned.

Karlea Renee Thomas was a stellar person who was everything to her 11-year-old daughter. It was little Cayla who found her mother's lifeless body on Friday, March 17 on the bathroom floor in their southwest Atlanta.

While police have yet to name a suspect in Thomas' death, her boyfriend is being interviewed by authorities.

Thomas was found with marks on her neck and other parts of her body, according to law enforcement.

Talking to a reporter, Cayla said that she couldn't pin down just one thing that she would miss about her mother. "Everything, she was just a lovable person," Cayla Hayes told a local TV station.

Friends, family and community members held a vigil Sunday to remember Thomas, whose playful nature made her easy to love.

"She was very boisterous, my fondest memories of her was performing, dancing, singing and acting," her mother, Joya Poole told Fox 5 Atlanta.

"She was the most funniest person you could have in your life," Thomas' niece, Tyreana Malcom said. "She would just make the funniest jokes. "

Poole said that she didn't want to think about how her daughter died, telling Fox 5, "Got so many question marks in my mind .... I cannot fathom any kind of emotion toward it right now."
