Rebecca Karns: 31-Year-Old Mother of 2 Gunned Down While Driving In Florida
Rebecca Karns was a doting mother of two children who was out late with her boyfriend on October 12, 2018 in Broward County, Florida. While Karns was behind the wheel with her boyfriend in the passenger seat, a bullet pierced her chest, police said.
Karns, 31, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brain dead the next day. Her family is devastated at the loss.
"We all are feeling the pain. We all are crying right now. We all are in tears because no one deserved to end up this way," Jonathan Karns, the victim’s brother, told Local News 10. "She was fun to be around, always laughing, loving, caring. She would go out of her way and do anything for you or for anybody."
Broward deputies say they don't believe the shooting was random, although they haven't share any information about what they know.
Security cameras at the scene show Karns' vehicle veering off the road and crashing into a parked car, Local News 10 reports.
Karns' family says they really need the public help to solve this murder.
"We need your help because that could have been your friend or your family or anybody that you love. So if you saw something or if you know something, we are asking you to help us and work with us. We need your help," Jonathan Karns told the TV station.
Karns' friends have also set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses and the needs of the victim's children.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
